ACCEPTANCE AS A FORM OF PEACE

Acceptance is such a powerful thing. When we can truly look at ourselves, all that we are and all that we are not with an open mind and loving heart we can find and even create peace amidst the biggest storms of our lives.

Our world is full of storms, conflicts, opposing sides pulling at us all. It can feel like a stressful and overwhelming place. No matter your views on current topics peace is a gift only you can give yourself. It is always easy to accept the things we agree with. What happens when you disagree? When there is a conflict or upset with someone close to you or someone on TV or social media? How do you react? How do you feel inside the disagreement? Do you yell, cry, laugh or swear? Do you shake your head inside the seemingly justified feeling of being right while so many others appear wrong?

I encourage you to have peace as your goal for thirty days. Go into every day and every interaction with a commitment to peace.

Will you speak different? Will you listen in a new way? Perhaps gossip will not fly as quickly from your lips? Will there be more appreciation and praise? I invite you to look closer at where you can be more accepting of yourself and others. Make this a daily practice as a short-term goal in July.

Let us individually and then collectively tip the scales of upset through mindful acceptance and peace as the prize. I am excited to see what that looks and feels like with you!
