JUNE -LIFE | LOVE | LOSS

JUNE 2021

LIFE | LOVE | LOSS

“You don’t have to move mountains.  Simply fall in love with life.  Be a tornado of happiness, gratitude, and acceptance.  You will change the world just by being a warm, kind-hearted human being.”
Anita Krizzan

SUMMER LOVIN

“And so, with the sunshine and the great bursts of leaves growing on the trees. Just as things grow in fast movies, I had that familiar conviction that life was beginning over again with the summer.”

F. Scott Fitzgerald

Happy June, summer is upon us!  I love the movie Grease.  So did my daughter when she was little.  It was the era of VHS tapes, and I cannot count the number of times we had to hit rewind to watch it again and again and again!  She could sing along to every song.  One of the most favorite was summer lovin!  What a fun song to capture a glimpse in time where things feel more fun and carefree.

I always try to apply this principal when summer comes around.  What new adventures am I having, what fun new strangers will I meet who may become friends?  Where will I go?  What will I see?  The longer days and warmer nights call to the adventurer in me.

What about you?  What are your favorite summer activities?  Where do you find your true summer lovin?  Is it in the mountains?  On a beach?  Next to or on a lake?  Will there be a fishing pole in your hand?  What music plays in the background?

I invite you to create time for play, for fun, for relaxing your mind and body!  Soak in the sun.  Watch the stars come out and the moon rise!  Make time this month to appreciate nature, friends, and family.  Find your people if you have not already.  Let yourself be free in all your expressions.  Stay up late and sleep in when you can!  Be the best version of you when interacting with others.  Look for the good and expect it to be looking for you!  Love a little deeper this month.

ACCEPTANCE AS A FORM OF HEALING

“Accept – then act.  Whatever the present moment contains, accept it as if you had chosen it.  Always works with it, not against it…  This will miraculously transform your whole life.”

-Eckhart Tolle

Acceptance is such a powerful thing.  When we can truly look at ourselves, all that we are and all that we are not with a heart full of awe and a mind of acceptance their peace can be found.

The year 2020 brought many things to the forefront that needed some extra attention, edits and certainly acceptance.  I find it is easy to accept the things I agree with.  It is no hardship to like or accept things that are comfortable to me.  When acceptance gets put to the test is when things do not match our ‘normal’.  This is the real space where growth and emotional intelligence comes in handy.

Can and do you accept others who do not think like you do about relationships, politics, finances, or religion?  Did just reading that make you squirm?  Well, this month I invite you to look closer at where you can be more accepting of yourself and others.  Do you constantly criticize those in your life?  If so, try doing that a little less and even adding some things you can appreciate and accept that you were critical of before.

I invite you to seek out and embrace others who think and live differently than you.  Accept them right where they are.  Have an inquisitive conversation asking how they think and feel about life and love.  LISTEN!  I know times I have done this my mind and heart grew to love and honor the person who shared a part of themselves with me.

I wish you everything good.

All my best,

Genna
